DCD down

Hello techs,

Serial is down/down, and just dcd is down with

DCD=down DSR=up DTR=up RTS=up CTS=up.

Below is diagram:

CE-------NTU----Wirless disk---------------Wirless Disk---PE

Two months the line was very unstable with input errors, crc errors and carrier transition increment.

Things we done so far.

1. Changed NTU

2.Changed cable v.35 between CE and NTU.

3.Changed CE router.

After we did that, line was stable for nearly a month with slight input and crc increment everyday. We

suspected that was due to wirless connection between CE and PE.

But the line came down today with serial down/down and dcd only down.

I personally suspect the cable distance between CE and NTU. But the line was stable for a month.

By stable i mean not flapping heavily all the time, of course there was few flaps with no significant

hard down. The line usually came up soon after the flap usually.

Do someone has same network topology or faced similar problem?

Techs opinion is welcome.

Regards,

lek

DCD is Data Carrier Detect - as DSR, DTR, CTS & RTS are all up, then your cable from your CE to your NTU is fine - your CE is just not receiving a carrier present signal from your NTU.

Your wireless link is flakey. Either it's not up at all, or it's flapping so hard the NTU has gone into some form of error disable state and is refusing to come back up again.

Check your wireless devices, and try power cycling your NTU.

Cheers.
