DDR Backup for MPLS

We currently have a framerelay setup and are using ISDN BRI lines as DDR backups when the frame PVC drops.

We are migrating to MPLS and I'm not sure how this is going to work now.

I had the thought of establishing GRE tunnels between each location and when the tunnel interface goes down the DDR backup will kick in?

Does this sound about right?

There are quite a few ways to activate the DDR connection. Don't know which method you are using. Since you are using GRE tunnels configuring 'backup interface (ddr_int)' under the tunnel interface should do the trick. When tunnel int goes down that would cause the DDR interface to come up.

Floating static route or your routing protocol can route the traffic from thereon.

Pls. rate the post if it helped.
