In OSPF, is there a single designated router for a given network OR is there a designated router for each SECTION of a network?

There is a DR per network segment so a router could be a DR on one segment, a BDR on another segment and a DROTHER on yet another segment.

Basically it is done on a per interface basis and a network segment would typically, athough not always, correspond to a vlan/IP subnet.
