I have a 29605 switch and the switch hosts two separate IP subnets A and B, on subnet A i have a DHCP server on subnet A service a djcp scope of subnet B.

So my question as i under DHCP brodacst does not junp subnet unless the dhcp relay is used to jump it.

Is that the case or since both the subnet are on the switch make the dhcp broadcast available through out the switch isnpite of two different subnets.

Vlans divide broadcast domains. DHCP requests will not propagate into another vlan by default. The "ip helper

" command will convert a broadcast message to unicast and send it to the specified ip address.
