Hi,

Can a L3 switch act as a DHCP server.?

And main advantages of L3 switches?why we are not recomenting L3 switchs for WAN connectivity?

2. You can definitely terminate a WAN connection on any L3 switch if the handoff is on Ethernet. Except for the 6500, you cannot terminate any traditional wan circuits such as T1, DS3 etc on the switch.

There are often other requirements like encryption, NAT that need to be performed which is supported on most of the catalyst switches.
