Hi, is there any way to assign ip for nhrp spoke tunnel interface dynamically from the hub?

I'm talking about that scenario:

Hello Sergej,

be aware that the mGRE tunnel creates a virtual flat topology.

You can use a dynamically learned public address on the exit physical interface where the tunnel is applied :

tunnel source FastEthernet0/0

this allows you to be independent of the actual ip address of FE0/0 that for example can be acquired via PPP IPCP if using PPPoE client feature for example.

the internal ip address of the tunnel instead can be manually configured in all scenarios: it is a private ip address that you manage.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

I know all that myself.

But i don't want to keep track of all tunnel IP's, assigned to branch offices.

Maybe there is some other way co connect branches, which might have dynamic external IP's to central office with OSPF support?

I've also tried l2tp, but OSPF and PPP are not good friends.

Hello Sergej,

DMPVPN is a powerful tool but this limitation is probably built-in.

I've never used it but Cisco has recently introduced a new framework called GETVPN

see

It may be able to provide what you are looking for

Hope to help

Giuseppe
