Hi,
I have a 805 router with 8M DRAM and 8M Flash. I want to do an IOS upgrade but the minimum required for DRAM is 12M. Since the router in its usual operation requires less then 30% of memory, I'd like to know if it is possible to install the IOS anyway on my router.
Thanks in advance
David

Hi David,
It is always recommended to follow the minimum requirement guidelines as stated by Cisco, rather than having a wild guess and rough estimates.
Cisco would have arrived and hence recommended those figures based on so many factors.
The code might still work under a little lesser RAM. However there wont be any guarantee that we wont run in to any problems.
The bottom line is always follow the recommendations by Cisco.

Tank you VJ,
I understand that. I will give it a try, because from where I am it takes time to do a memory upgrade.
