Gopal,
What controlls the IP address assignment? is it static or DHCP? Which end had the conflict, the D/C or Branch end?

Hi,
Its static ip address and configured by server team. we have no control over that and the server is in DC.

Gopal,
To be honest you have answered your own qestion? If you have no control over the IP allocation, you have no control over statically assigned duplicate IP addressing. To be honest - the minute the server team allocated the duplicate IP address and connected the device to the network - the OS would have alerted them to the duplicate IP addressing.
The only solution I would think of - is your network team take responsibility for IP assignment. If that is not possible - then the server team need to improve their process and procedures.
HTH.
