E1 flaps brings down the entire multilink to hung

Hi All,

In our network we are running MLPPP on major locations. The problem that we are facing is when any one of the E1 bundled in multilink flaps, the multilink got hung. The multilink stays up but we are not able to ping the other end /30 ip. In those cases, we have to remove the flapping link from the multilink. If we fail to remove the flapping link from multilink then we have to do a shut/no shut on the multilink interface to bring the services up.

I would like to know

a. Is the expected behavior in multilink?

b. Is there any workaround apart from shut/no shut.

Kindly revert.

Thanks

Arun Kumar

We had a similar issue with multilink. We used to do a clear interface multilink to restore it

IOS upgradation of the routers however resolved the issue
