ECC Messages appear at 7206 VXR console

Dear Group,

We have a 7206VXR Router in which we are facing problem that sometimes router doesn't forward authentication request to AAA and a message appear " %BCM-4-ECC_MEMORY: Corrected ECC from memory ".

Hi Mujeeb,

Can check whether there are any ECC errors using following command .

config)# show sysctlr .

If you see ECC errors then the problem is related to a hardware problem. The EEC messages comes, when the system can recognize faulty data in the SDRAM.

*****I suggest you to RMA your NPE card.

****If you are not seeing any ECC errors then workaround is The IOS upgrade and the reseat of the DRAM was a very good idea.

it seems your memory may have problems and may need to be replaced

replace the memory and verify if the symptoms persist.

if the problems persist, there may be an issue with the system board and the repair/replacement of the router will be required.
