Eigrp default-route and Gateway of last resort

i have three routers running eigrp, all connected directly.(R1--R2--R3)

Router 2 configured static route to reach R3 loop ip, and R2 using default-network cmd for R1 to reach R3.  If you look at R1 route table it place * on network and it has gateway of last resort. On R2 i appy this cmd under eigrp config no default-information out, now the candidate default * has been removed. can anyone explain me why it removed the " * candidate default " and how it still getting gateway last resort.

And after i issue no auto-summary on R2, the Gateway of last resort has completely removed on R1, even it's classfull address.

R1#sh ip route

Gateway of last resort is to network is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks

C is directly connected, Loopback0

D is a summary, 00:19:57, Null0

D* [90/2681856] via, 00:01:22, Serial1/0

C is directly connected, Serial1/0
