EIGRP external route redistribution

Hey everyone, my mind just pulled a blank and I need some help.

Say I have 3 routers; R1, R2 and R3

R3 has a static route to 135.xxx.xxx.xxx pointing towards a firewall. R3 is re-distributing static routes via EIGRP to R2

R2's routing table has entry that looks like this:

D EX  135.xxx.xxx.xxx/16 [170/3072] via 10.20.28.1, 00:00:50, GigabitEthernet0/2

*10.20.28.1 = R1

R2 and R1 are both EIGRP neighbors. Should R2 automatically advertise 135.xxx.xxx.xxx to R1 or does it need to be redistributed manually via a route-map and the redistribute keyword under EIGRP configuration?

Re: EIGRP external route redistribution

Can you provide the topology and show ip eigrp topo for that prefix on all three routers?

EIGRP external route redistribution

Ricky,

generally speaking, if you have 3 routers that are in the same eigrp process that exchange routes (provided there is no route filtering using route maps). you will only need to redistribute your static 135.x.x.x route ONCE into your eigrp process, can you attach your configs..

Thanks

EIGRP external route redistribution

Hey guys, thanks for the replies but I think I fixed this part. Just had to bounce the tunnel on R2 ad now R1 can see external routes advertised by R3 via R2.

Thanks
