Hello,

You don't need to configure eigrp stubv on the DS1. As for the passive interface, you need it only on the 10.100.0.0 so it won't send or recieve Eigrp multicast and form neighbor relations on this interface.

Remark: If you want to advertise the 10.100.0.0/16 you don't need to use the network 10.100.0.0 0.0.255.255. You just need the 10.100.0.x interface IP address ONLY.

Hope this helps,

Appreciate your rating,

Hi Hadad!

try to list the config regarding DS1 FOR eigrp process 1

10xs

DS1

ROUTER EIGRP 1

Network 10.100.0.1 0.0.0.0

Network 19.168.1.2 0.0.0.0

no auto-summary

passive-interface E0/0

The E0/0 has to be changed to the interface what has the 10.100.0.1 address. The 10.100.0.1 address has to be changed to whatever your DS1 interface IP address is.

Let me know if you need anything further,

Regards,

Hi Haddad!

i dont have like this interface 10.100.0.1;i have a DISTR switch includeS the following network:

SVIs:

10.100.10.2

10.100.14.2

10.100.15.2

10.100.16.2

10.100.17.2

10.100.18.2

10.100.12.2

10.100.20.2

&

P2P L3 Etherchannel connected to CORE

192.168.1.2

1)Is the passive interface become port-channel 1?

NOW ANY CLEAR HELP?

10XS

Hello,

Just to clear the Passive interface issue,Passive interface means do not send or receive or even create an EIGRP peer relation on this interface. In other words, the interfaces that do not need to establish peer relationship you can set them as passive.

Therefore, what you can do in your situation since most of you interfaces are passive you can issue the commands below:

passive-interface default

no passive-interface port-channel3

The port-channel should not be passive because you are establishing EIGRP peer over this interface with the core.

As for the networks, since they are a lot it makes sense to put the below network statement:

10.100.0.0 0.0.31.255

Let me know if you need anything else,

Regards,

Hello,

Yes I am from Leb and in Canada right now. Planning for a visit in April 21.

As for the passive issue you have to set the below

router eigrp 1

passive-interface default

no passive-interface port-channel X

X is your port-channel number. THis would set all SVIs to passive while leaving the port-channel non passive.

:-)

Hope this helps,

Regards,

HI

1)What is the difference to advertise netwotk in EIGRP Like this:

network 10.100.0.0

network 10.100.0.0 0.0.255.255

maybe some routers don't support wildcard

2)so i need to configure passive iinterface as a best design

3)maybe i will travel to canada soon as a imigrant skilled worker;how is life there?

10x

The network command 10.100.0.1 0.0.0.0 means advertise only the interface subnet with IP address 10.100.0.1. If y ou say 10.100.0.0 0.0.255.255 you are saying advertise all the interface's subnets that have 10.100.x.x IP address.

10.100.0.1 is more restrictive. It is better to configure passive-interfaces so that nobody will try to form a neighbor with your distribution switch and send incorrect EIGRP updates.

Lebanon is the most wonderfull country in the world. I miss it SO SO SO MUCH! Dreaming of the second I land for a visit.

Life in Canada is also nice but nothing replace your home country!Believe me!

Regards,

Ok Haddad

10xs for all ur relys & good luck
