EIGRP Routing Problem

Hi all,

I recently move sites to a VPLS provider.

I setup all routers to run EIGRP. This company have a particular setup between HQ and DR sites (Disaster & Recovery)

Please see attached.

The problem resides when I enable EIGRP in the inside interface in the DR router, all the other locations seems to start dropping connectivity.

I think this is because all remotes locations have two paths to the bridge network behind the HQ and DR routers, and causes a loop.

I would like to have HQ router as the primary router and DR router as my backup path to the bridge network.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hello Aosondoval,

on DR router you should use the offset-list feature in order to make its routes with an higher metric

access-list 11 permit any

router eigrp XX

offset-list 11 out 100

the command will increase the delay component of EIGRP routes sent out the specified interface

see

Hope to help

Giuseppe
