Enable logging of changes in EIGRP neighbor adjacencies

I have issued the "eigrp log-neighbor-changes" command for my router eigrp 100 interface and did not encounter any error messages. I save the changes to nvram and execute the "sho run" and I don't see the eigrp entry under "router eigrp 100." I am running IOS version 12.3

How do I check if the eigrp logging is enabled by default?

Thanks

Re: Enable logging of changes in EIGRP neighbor adjacencies

Hi,

This happens because it is enabled by default, and default configuration is not displayed in the sh run, try doing "no eigrp log-neighbor-changes" and you'll see that it will appear in the configuration, then re-enable it again.

Mohammed Mahmoud.

I tried this and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for your help.

Andrew

I am pretty sure that the logging of neighbor changes is enabled by default and that is why it does not show up in the config when you enter it. The easiest way to check is to cause one of the eigrp neighbor to go down and back up and see if that is recorded in the logs.

Re: Enable logging of changes in EIGRP neighbor adjacencies

I'm afraid you can only verify this command from a show running-config. If you don't see it, it's because it's enabled. If disabled, it will be shown under the EIGRP process as such.
