Enabling OSPF in PIX

Has anyone had to enable OSPF routing on a PIX 525 v6.3? should I expect problems CPU % others issues? the other option is put a 2811 router in front of the FW and in to our core network, so are the ISR routers secured enough to be used instead to bypass the PIX and just use the firewall futures on it?

Hi Bravo

Are you planning to run vpn tunnels between your peers or the FW is going to be placed there for security purpose ?

Hello,

We run OSPF on pix 525 v6.3. We don't have any problems but our routing table is rather small and amount of neighbors isn't that high.

I would say that the choice for an extra 2811 router is not a good idea. You bypass the firewall, which is in my view a serious security breach.

Rogier
