error in upload the enterprise ios image in cisco 7206 router

Hi Team,

when we were trying to upload the IOs image(18 mb) in cisco 7206 router in its disk2: file system

through TFTP server (cross cable connected to the pc). after copying the IOS image till 18% i.e.

almost 4 mb was copied and gives the error...

%Error opening disk2:c7200-js-mz.123-12e.bin (Bad DFS cluster data passed)

and after that when i was trying to delete the image and its not allowing me to delete the image. I got following error...

rinchr-cpx13-7206#delete disk2:c7200-js-mz.123-12e.bin

Delete filename [c7200-js-mz.123-12e.bin]?

Delete disk2:c7200-js-mz.123-12e.bin? [confirm]

%Error deleting disk2:c7200-js-mz.123-12e.bin (Cluster chain broken on file)

any suggestion for this problem...

and I have checked in cisco site and as per the cisco.....

When a file with a size that is between N and N-1 clusters is copied to a ATA disk

that has a free space of N clusters, a truncated file is

created with a message "Bad DFS cluster data passed". Each cluster is of 4k size.

There is no workaround.

Re: error in upload the enterprise ios image in cisco 7206 route

Can you check below commands and troubleshoot.....

1)Sh dir ... Check on this how much IOS are present into your router.

2) If there are multiple IOS remove it By SQUEEZE command.

3) Install new IOS by XMODEM utility.
