Error

I have a default route from my router to other router.

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.125

ip route is out of range - [1-223]

Please explain

As the other poster mentioned throw some lite on the kinda router or switch model n which you are trying to add up this route , also do clarify about 10.1.1.125 , the kinda of connectivity there in place etc.,,

As others have pointed out some more detail about what you have and about the error would be helpful.

Based on what was in the original post I will make a guess at the problem. You have a static default route:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.125

This is an example of using recursive lookup, where the default route has 10.1.1.125 as the next hop, so the router then has to look in the routing table and find what is the next hop to get to 10.1.1.125. I am guessing that the routing table does not have a entry that gets to 10.1.1.125.

If you would post the output of show ip route as well as the specific attempt to configure the static route and resulting error message we might be able to give better advice.
