Etherswitch question

I noticed cisco says that if 2 etherswitches are in the same router chassis that they must be stacked.

so is the NM-1GE considered an etherswitch?

I was planning on putting both the NM-1GE and NME-16ES-1G in the same router would this require stacking (thus making the NM-1GE useless) or is this a valid setup?

Re: Etherswitch question

No, the NM-1GE is not, and is not considered, an etherswitch.

Note that depending on the router where you're placing it, the routing performances for NM-1GE can be much, much less than wire rate.

Please rate post if it helps!
