Whenever I am trying to configure access port in the extended vlan(say 2000) , the switch re-boots.
Any idea Why ?

May be there will be some problem in your IOS. I think you have to update the IOS. Here is the link which will help you during configuration.

Can you post the config along with the output from show vlan and show vtp status ?
