FAILOVER AND LOAD SHARING

Hi.

I have 4 cisco 2610 with 2 serial wan connection to 2 line 2 mbit.

I configured hsrp so each pair of route has virtual ip for failover.

If i want to configure load balancing or load sharing how can i do? With EIGRP? BGP? How can i mix all? Can you give me some hint and link to docs to read?

Thx.

Re: FAILOVER AND LOAD SHARING

You can configure load sharing for HSRP. Offcourse there are sever ways to accomplish this. In the Cisco example 2 standy groups are used. The downside is that it requires additional configuration on your hosts.

A newer technology called Gateway Load-Balancing Protocol, which is derived from HSRP is more likely to use but is likely not available to the 2600 series platform. See feature navigator.

I suggest you start here:

EIGRP, PBR and BGP are also posibilites it depends on your design and business requirements how and where to implement them.
