i have 1700 Series router, when i send small files(200/300 KB) via FTP(windows 2000 prof.)to the windows 2000 FTP server, files transmission is faster, when i start sending files more than 3/4MB or more, it get freezed. Note: it freezez when it is 10KB or so on, why is that? router configuration is normal, i have not done anything on the router as much complicated,
Bandwidth - 2 Mbps.
Client - windows 2000 prof.
Server - Windows 2003/2000/XP(tried all OS)
Files - MPEG,TIF
interface ethernet 0

interface serial 0
ip unnumbered ethernet 0
router eigrp 4444
same config in other end with different IP address 10.2.1.1 255.255.255.0
I am experiencing a similar problem: As soon as access rules are enabled, I cannot download files via HTTP anymore. No HTTP(S) application policies are applied, though the download just doesn't start. Everything else (HTTP, HTTPS) works fine - just except when trying to explicitly downloading files (e.g. xxx.zip).
i found the problem why it is making problem which has occured for me. it is because that electric cable & my network cable is tagged together in a place where i found, which was creating FCS errror. later when i isolated both the things, my problem got rectified & now file transferring smooth.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
