Frame Relay - Basic Configurations Hub and Spoke

Hello Everybody..

I am trying to set up a frame-relay hub & spoke topology in my home lab. I have two Cisco 2610XM with one of them got a Serial NM-4A/S 4 serial ports async/sync and this would be my FRS router.

My question is how do I connect them physically back to back with a DB60 DTE/DCE cable to make them a hub and spoke network. The idea is to run frame-relay over OSPF NBMA network.

Here is my current connection:

R1_HUB

Cont t

Interface serial 1/0

ip address 172.12.123.1 255.255.255.0

clockrate 56000

encapsulation frame-relay

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.2 dlci 122 b

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.3 dlci 123 b

no frame-relay inverse-arp

R2_SPOKE

Conf t

Interface serial 0/0

ip address 172.12.123.2 255.255.255.0

encapsulation frame-relay

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.1 dlci 221 b

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.3 dlci 221 b

R3_SPOKE

conf t

Interface serial 0/0

ip address 172.12.123.3 255.255.255.0

encapsulation frame-relay

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.1.dlci 321 b

frame-relay map ip 172.12.123.2 dlci 321 b

Thank you for your time and help!

Hi Arif(I hope this is your good name?)

you connect them back-to-back indeed, set DCE side to do clocking, on the FRS guy issue 'frame-relay switching' in global mode, then issue frame-relay routes between interfaces.

while checking the command I found this excerpt that might be of some help for you:
