G.SHDSL with ADSL2+

Hello. I have a 878 G.SHDSL and I have to configure (SNAP encapsulation, Static IP,..) and I have an ADSL 2+ line (6Mbps). Can I do it? WAN interface is always down.

Thanks a lot.

Re: G.SHDSL with ADSL2+

Hello Josè,

unfortunately there is a physical layer mismatch and you cannot use a G.SHDSL over an ADSL line.

Hope to help

Re: G.SHDSL with ADSL2+

And If have a Zyxel Router and I configure it lika a bridge, to pass all data to de cisco, and I configure one of the Eth interfaces with public IP, do you think it is possible to work?

Thanks

Jose.

Re: G.SHDSL with ADSL2+

Hello Josè,

yes this can solve your issue the zyxel takes care of terminating the ADSL line and carries ethernet frames over it.

depending on your router you may need to configure L3 IP parameters on a vlan interface (SVI) with the physical interface placed in that vlan.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
