Hi,

Check the connection to power supply 1.  Do you see the green light?  You may have a lose connection or the power supply may be going bad.  What is the output of "sh power"?

The PS1's heat extraction fan is "stuck".

Hello

I'm having this same problem.

First idea was to replace the power supply.

This has been done now but the problem remains.

When the power supply is powered on, the fan LED goes green and the status LED goes black.

But after a few seconds the fan LED goes black and the status LED becomes RED.

Following logging is taken while the unit is replaced and powerd on:

Mar 12 11:37:36 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSOK: power supply 1 turned on.

Mar 12 11:37:36 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSREDUNDANTBOTHSUPPLY: in power-redundancy mode, system is operating on both power supplies.

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-2-PSFAIL: power supply 1 output failed.

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %SNMP-5-CHASSISALARM: Chassis Alarm Trap: tmpAlarm(OFF), minorAlarm(ON), and/or majorAlarm(OFF)

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSREDUNDANTONESUPPLY: in power-redundancy mode, system is operating on one power supply.

Mar 12 11:37:36 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSOK: power supply 1 turned on.

Mar 12 11:37:36 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSREDUNDANTBOTHSUPPLY: in power-redundancy mode, system is operating on both power supplies.

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-2-PSFAIL: power supply 1 output failed.

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %SNMP-5-CHASSISALARM: Chassis Alarm Trap: tmpAlarm(OFF), minorAlarm(ON), and/or majorAlarm(OFF)

Mar 12 11:37:38 CET: %C6KPWR-SP-4-PSREDUNDANTONESUPPLY: in power-redundancy mode, system is operating on one power supply.

I would appreciate the help!

Thanks

Fred

Hi Fred,

Please paste the show enviroment status onwards.

1.Try swapping  the Power module to both the unit. Check running good one at one time and swapping the bad unit to both power module with Bad one. This will isolate your power unit module problem or chasis.

2.And if you still face the problem try to run the chasis in combined power mode and check the show enviroment status.

3. Check if you are inserting the identical Power Supply in both the unit. Command refernce:show inventory

4. Try swapping the power cable and check if the correct voltage is coming from the source or replace power cable.

5. Collect console capture while doing the activity and update in the forums.

Contact Cisco RMA.  The backplane to your chassis is at fault.
