GRE Configuration

I have 2 2801 routers that I'm trying to config for GRE w/o success. The commands take, but there is no traffic going across the tunnel interfaces. I'm not using a loopback interface.

Howdy,

It might be best if you posted the configs you have since it's a bit hard to work out what's going wrong otherwise ...

are the GRE tunnels UP/UP on both ends? if yes have you specified traffic dynamic/static to be routed via the GRE's ?? just a few simple things to check.

Hi Check the below very much sample configuration :

Router - 1

int tunnel 1

ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.252

tunnel source Ethernet 0

tunnel destination 10.144.2.1

int Ethernet 0

ip address 20.1.2.5 255.255.255.0

Router - 2

int tunnel 1

ip address 1.1.1.2 255.255.255.252

tunnel source Ethernet 0

tunnel destination 20.1.2.5

int Ethernet 0

ip address 10.144.2.1 255.255.255.0

Make sure the Ethernet ip (in this exapmle..u might use any other interface as well) must be pingable from each other site.

Hope this can help u out.

rgds,

Hardik..
