Hardware Failure shown on port in Nexus 5596

Today one of the link of N5k to one of the location went down & following is the description shown in the nexus:

Ethernet1/23 is down (Hardware failure)

Contact Cisco TAC and arrange for an RMA.  Nothing else you can do.

Hi Sidhharth,
You need to raise the RMA for the module to get it replaced.

further more you can see that the port might have failed on the module. run the following command:

show diagnostic result module all

Here you can do one more thing ... You can try to reset module from command

 

 

5k# config t

5k-config# poweroff module 1 ( Particular module) 

5k-config# no poweroff module 1 ( Particular module) 

 

It will reset the module and it should work.. Because it work for me.
