Hello,
I am just wondering if this is possible.
If i can get a telco to provide a WAN with broadcast capabilities. I connect
my routers via serial over this WAN and
i use cisco HDLC.
Would it be possible for the routers to
communicate?
thanks,

Let me just add something more:
I am not just connecting two routers in
point-to-point configuration. I want to connect several routers in a point-to-multipoint configuration using HDLC over
a broadcast capable WAN infrastructure.

Hello Raoul,
I don't think you can use HDLC encapsulation in a point-to-multipoint scenario.
HDLC header even in Cisco HDLC version has no DLCI header and so what is the way to signal a frame is for device 2 and the other is for device 3 and so on ?
Or you send all frames to all routers but this is not efficient.
Ask to your provider if you can use FR encapsulation that is possible on a serial interface.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
