Help needed on basic redundant wan site design.

Here’s my question.

I have a remote site with two routers.

R1 has a connection to our MPLS net

R2 has a dedicated internet connection circuit

Behind that I have an ASA, behind the ASA I have a net with some servers.

I am using EIGRP for my igrp.

What I would like to do is set this up so that if for some reason my R1 dies or the MPLS connection goes down, traffic destined for the rest of my network, let’s say 10.5.0.0/16 will be caught by an ACL and build an IPSEC tunnel back to my home office via router R2

Dynamic routing between R1 and the ASA along with backup static routes on the ASA should be able to work assuming you can do routing over the MPLS network.Otherwise you can try route tracking on the ASA.

What do you need the Asa for? Build the IPSec tunnel on r2 to the hub location, run hsrp on the internal interfaces and be done.
