Help required in module insertion

Dear All,

I have 6509 switch. In its first slot present 10/100 ethernet module is there.

I have to remove this module and insert 10/100/1000 ethernet module.

Can I have some valid suggestions:

1 Like these are the precautions needs to be taken

2 Like These are the problems may occur, if this is the problem or error this is the solution or activity needs to be carried out

3 Like these are the check list we have to verify after insertion.

I suggest to check the hardware and software compatibility between new module and existing equipment, and the IOS / CatOS in the SupEng that can support the new module.

Always backup the config. and allocate maintenace window for the change.

Do ensure the 10/100 configuration can be translated to the 10/100/1000 module. And check the port status for speed and duplex after the replacement and connected to the host.
