Re: High CPU Utiilization

Iam using cat 6500 switch ,iam a transit AS. I have 10 BGP peers in that switch.

Iam receiving the routes from these ten.

I see the cpu utilization goes upto 100

i have followed the steps given in

Except the replication

Still iam facing the same problem as such my cpu utilization goes high due to BGP Scanner or BGP Router Process

Can any one help regarding this.

Hi,

excpet replication.

Iam almost receiving 526375 prefixes from all the BGP peers.

can any one help me out to resolve this issue.

Can my swicth handle this amount of prefixes.

Hi andrea,

this swicth is connected to another 6500 switch.

this this swicth we have 10 BGP Sessions and 15 customer Link out of 15, 5 has BGP sessions with us.

in another cat 6506 swicth we have only 5 customer Link.

Do u require thw whole BGP config ?

One doubt is that Does My switch has the capacity to handle so much Prefixes

Hi Ranga,

for my experience, 526375 prefixes are impressive.

Have you a IGP-BGP redistribution on your network?
