Hi Krishna,
Holddown timer and invalid timer are different.
Holddown Timer:-- Holddown timer means a timer which starts when router receives the information about a invalid or inaccessible route from neighbor router.
Invalid Timer:-- Invalid timer means a timer which starts when a router didn,t receive an update about a route in a speceified time.
Hope it helps

HI
invalid timer means a particular router is going to mark a particular route invalid if it doesnt hear from that router for a particular amount of time usually it depends upon the protocol which u use.
hold down timer means a particular router after declaring a particular route invalid and after flash timer expires if it learns about that route agian it is going to put the that update in the state of hold for a particular amount of time before entering it in the routing table.
Thanks
