Here is some output.

I may be completely wrong as i have never used these cards in a 6500 so just ignore me if you know this isn't a problem but isn't the output saying you need an image upgrade ie.

NOTES:

       - FPD images that are required to be upgraded are indicated with a '*'

character in the "Minimal Required Version" field.

       - The following FPD image package file is required for the upgrade:

         "c6500-fpd-pkg.122-33.SXI5.pkg"

Jon

I thought that as well, but we running that version listed.

I believe the SPA card does not use the main IOS image, it needs it's own and that is why you are getting the message about upgrading. Basically when you upgrade your IOS there is an automatic FPD upgrade for any SIP/SPA cards but you need to have the FPD image on your switch. It could be that the card was only added after you had that IOS on the switch.

Have a look at this doc which explains all about FPDs and how to upgrade  -

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/shared_port_adapters/configuration/6500series/76fpd.html

Again, i admit i may well be wrong, as i have never used these type of cards in a 6500 but have a read of the doc and see what you think.

Jon

Thank you, I'll read it.
