How to take backup of router

Please educate met about how to take backup of router when it is connected through console?

is your requirement to take back up of running config.??if so

Router#show Run (you can copy and paste in a notepad.)

Or

in Hyperterminal there is on option of capturing the text (Tranfer capture text) give a file name (Router#show run)

am i able to fullfill the requremnt if not let us know ...

Another option (through the network, not the console) is to copy either the running config or the startup config to a TFTP Server.

#copy running tftp

then IOS asks you a few questions such as: IP address of the TFTP server, name of the new file,...

Of course, you should have a TFTP Server running at the IP address that you'll give.
