Hi Cindy,

Yes you call poll the ifInerrors, IfOutErrors oids respectively to track errors on the interface.

The OIDs for the parameters are as follows,

ifOutErrors 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.20

ifInErrors 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14

Revert back if you need further help on this.

Hope this helps.

Hi VJ,

First of all, thanks for the info! and sorry for the late reply..:D

Well, you mean i can configure ifOutErrors on the router itself?

How can i do these steps?

Thanks again..

Cindy

Hi Cindy,

IfInError and IfOutErrors are OIDs.

The statistics for these oids will be automatically populated by the SNMP daemon running in Cisco Router. All you need to do is to poll these OIDs for corresponding interfaces in your router and get the data.

You can refer to this URL for configuration syntax with for implementing this in MRTG.

Hope this helps.

Thanks VJ!

This is really useful!

I don't understand why ifInerrors, IfOutErrors oids would be tracked, when there are oids for CRC:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12

So, why can't anyone figure out how to collect CRC information?  How about on the serial interfaces?
