how to use boot command under ROM mode.

I tried to upgrade IOS to c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin on my 2610 router, and I added 2 commands:

boot system flash c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin

boot system flash: c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin

and start to upgrade. But the router kept restarting after upgrading, then I realized it is due to not enough RAM(The new IOS need 48M, while it has 32M only).

then under ROM mode, I decide to change to new IOS:c2600-i-mz.123-9e.bin, which need smallled RAM.

After finishing load the new IOS, I got the error message"

Smart Init is enabled

smart init is sizing iomem

boot: cannot determine first file name on device "flash: c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin"

It told me the 12.3 ios too large and since I still have 2 "boot system" commands in the router config, it tries to find another IOS.

And when I check the parameter in the ROM mode using "set" command, I got this:

rommon 1 > set

PS1=rommon ! >

BOOT=c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin,1;flash:\ c2600-js-mz.122-26b.bin,12;

?=1

Maybe I need to change the value of the parameter in the ROM, can someone help on this? Or can someone provide me the better solution to make router back to normal?

thanks

Re: how to use boot command under ROM mode.

If the above does not work, try the following:

BOOT=flash:\c2600-i-mz.123-9e.bin

boot

Hope that helps,
