HSRP or WHAT...?

Dear All;

I have a secnario;

I have two ERP server for same purpose. 1 of two is standby server. now i wana configure that server in such a way that if primary server goes down, standby server should be up as a primary one. in other way, i wana configure my router in such a way that if my ERP-1 server goes down, then my all traffic should redirect/reroute to ERP-2 server. keeping in mind that, both servers have same IP addresses (or depend on solution). ofcourse end user would send request on single IP so standby also must have same IP. PLEASE GUIDE ME how can i configure ?....

Waiting for you kind reply..

Re: HSRP or WHAT...?

Hi this is nothing to do with the router or any HSRP configuration. You should be looking at a solution on the server side. Its called clustering. I am not a server guy but i picked up some websites for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_cluster

http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/technologies/genclust.mspx
