HWIC and VIC modules in Cisco 2851 Router

Hiii, is it possble to make work the VIC module by inserting into a HWIC slot on Cisco 2851 router?? Can we use it in vice-versa.

When I have inserted VIC module in HWIC slot, the card is getting recognized throgh "sh diag" command but it is not showing in sh version/sh run. Even Dialer-peers and other voice related configuration is not working. Please let me know ur replies asap.

4 slots in Cisco 2851 , each slot can support HWIC, WIC, VIC, or VWIC type modules

so it should support all cards.

When I inserted teh VIC module in HWIC slot, it is showing when I gave "show diag" command. But it is not showing in "show ver", "show int brief" etc commands and it is not supporting the commands related to dial-peers.

Is the issue with IOS or something else? Can u please explain in detail?
