HWIC-Cable-D-2 Which serial number sent to CMTS?

I am trying to get my HWIC-Cable-D-2 going with my ISP.  It syncs up fine, but remains unauthorized.  The ISP validates the serial number of "the modem", but I need to know which serial number to send them.

From what I see, there are 3 possibilities:

Router Chassis serial number (not likely)

HWIC card serial number (show inventory)

CM daughter card serial number (only available through show diag)

Which is it?

And befor you ask, my ISP is a pain and I can't just cycle through it with them to find the right one.

I am using a cisco 1841 with IOS 15.1(4) with all the commands I have displayed here:

when you do a

show int cable-modem 0/0/0

I have removed the actual mac address form this device and replaced it with "x". As you can see from this out put you have both a HFC MAC and a hardware mac for the hwic-cable-d-2. Bye the way HFC is short for Hybird fiber coaxial--might want to do a little reading on this. Anyway, back on track here, the HFC MAC address or serial number is what most cable isps require to register the device on their network. This is a spare hwic-cable-d-2 that I keep in the event my 1841 v05 go's down that is why all the lines are showing down.

So call your isp back provide them with the HFC MAC address so they can register the device on their network.
