I Need a help for configuring the Backup Leased line

Hi Roopesh,

If you connected the new connection to your core switch...

You need to creat a vlan in your core switch in the subnet of your provider.
Then you can configure a sub-interface in your router for routing purpose.

And onemore thing is if you have a L3 switch as core, you can connect your new link and run routing in the core itself right as long as it have L3 features.

Hi Roopesh,

What you can do is, connect the new Leased line to any L2 switch and then connect that L2 switch to your network (it can be to your core switch).
Now you can do sub-interface in your router and configure accordingly as per your ISP.

This is the way you can achive it and the same what I have at one of my customer.
My customer have a 2801 router with just two Fastethernet ports those two ports using 1 for MPLS and another for P2P link. After some days my customer want to take another P2P link to another location So then I thought to do what I suggested above.
