Re: I need router with Ethernet WAN port to connect to my ISP
I don't know the price difference between the 1700s and the 1800s series, but from a performance point of view I would go with the 1841, we started rolling them out in few of our networks and to me they are a really nice piece of equipment.
-They boot up as fast as the 3600s,
-Have Compact Flash Cards for IOS storage
-Come out of the box with plenty of memory and flash
-Even have a USB Slot so you can upgrade the IOS from your USB stick.
-Two HWIC slots so you could add ISDN backup etc...
-With 70.000-120.000 pps they are as fast or even faster as the Cisco 2691.
IMO Cisco has done a really good job with this product, I wish I would have a few of them in my home lab... :-)
