Installing 8Port E1 controller card into a 7206VXR

Hi,

This is pretty straight forward right?

No special prepping before configuring interfaces on it?

Do I need to change the card to type e1 first?

Do I need to change the clocking source?

Or can I just copy the config below on to the card?

!

controller E1 X/X

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-16

description XX-XXXXX-XX/C/2048/2MB's

!

interface SerialX/X:0

description XX-XXXXX-XX

bandwidth 1024

ip address XXX.XX.XXX.XXX 255.255.255.252

no ip redirects

no ip unreachables

no ip proxy-arp

ip nat inside

!

!

controller E1 X/X

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-16

description XX-XXXXX-XX/C/2048/2Mbs

!

interface SerialX/X:0

description XX-XXXXXX-XX

bandwidth 1024

ip address XXX.XXX.XXX.XX 255.255.255.252

no ip redirects

no ip unreachables

no ip proxy-arp

!

Re: Installing 8Port E1 controller card into a 7206VXR

Hi,

with some cards (for example PA-MCX) you must specify card type first (t1 or e1). Check a link: http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2033/products_module_installation_guide_chapter09186a008011e28c.html (Performing a Basic Configuration)

After that you can apply your config.

What difficulties do you have?

regards,

Alexander
