Interface Status is 'Reset'

I have a 2620 running C2600-IS-M 12.3(5) that I'm trying to setup a Multilink Bundle using 3 T1's on PowerQUICC Serial interfaces.

When the T1's are connected the sh int command displays:

Serial0/1:0 is reset, line protocol is up

Advice?

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

Should be a transient state, after that likely the state will become down when the circuits are faulty.

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

I tested all the interfaces with a known working T1 supplied by AT&T, yet they never change.

Right now with no T1's plugged into the router I'm getting the same status, but with line protocol down. But once I plug in even a known good the reset status does not change.

Is there a way to force it past that state?

Thanks for the reply.

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

Can you send "show controller serial x" when this happens ?

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

Right now the controllers are set to 'T1'. Most of this config was not done by me, but I get the mess to clean up.

Here is the out put of show controller t1 0/0, 0/1 and 0/2 (The three that will be in use):

T1 0/1 is down.

Applique type is Channelized T1

Cablelength is long gain36 0db

Receiver has remote alarm.

alarm-trigger is not set

Version info Firmware: 20030902, FPGA: 11

Framing is ESF, Line Code is B8ZS, Clock Source is Line.

CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.

T1 0/2 is down.

Applique type is Channelized T1

Cablelength is long gain36 0db

Transmitter is sending remote alarm.

Receiver has loss of signal.

alarm-trigger is not set

Version info Firmware: 20030902, FPGA: 11

Framing is ESF, Line Code is B8ZS, Clock Source is Line.

CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.

T1 0/3 is down.

Applique type is Channelized T1

Cablelength is long gain36 0db

Transmitter is sending remote alarm.

Receiver has loss of signal.

alarm-trigger is not set

Version info Firmware: 20030902, FPGA: 11

Framing is ESF, Line Code is B8ZS, Clock Source is Line.

CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.

Would changing the controller to Serial make the difference?

I know it's a pretty noobish question, but I'm just stumped and want to get this fixed.

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

What exact hardware is again?

Anyway:

T1 0/1 is down.

Receiver has remote alarm.

Meaning, something is wrong with the circuit, or the router on the other end is not connected.

The other interfaces have no signal at all.

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

Correct. Right now the T1's are plugged into the working router so the site isn't down.

Here is the output of sh inv and sh ver as the router is on the other side of the country:

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

So you have 2x NM-2CT1-PRI likely.

All good except an old 2620 not even XM is quite obsolete today.

You have to check on show controller T1 when everything is connected.

Re: Interface Status is 'Reset'

I will be trying to bring it up later today. Hopefully I can have better information then.

Thanks for the pointers.
