Internet Disconnection

hi to all,

im a new member here.....

can i ask a question to you guys, and kindly please help me with my problem...

i have a computer shop and i have this problem this past 2 months.

i always encounter internet disconnect, and the weird thing is the light of ADSL in my modem doesn't off or blink.

every time it happens.

somebody told me that the cause of this is a network virus,

so he advice me to reformat all my units...

but still the same problem occurs...

and until now i don't know what to do.....

so please help me....

There could be many causes but to make it simple-

It all comes down to systematic diagnosis.

1) First is the ethernet cable good. Are the ends good.

Try another cable.

2) Do you have a seperate network card or is an integrated card - that is is it part of the motherboard

- first of all check in your hardware device tree that there is no question mark or exclamation point by the network card. If there is then the driver for the network card is not installed properly . It should say " this device is installed properly".
