what command to know the IOS images on a router? how can get one?is it available on cisco site? thanks

Hi,
The command is "show ver".
You need to have SmartNet or hardware maintenance with a Cisco partner to be able to download IOS update. For IOS upgrade, you need to purchase it.

Hi,
You can use "show version" command to know the IOS image. The output of this command
provide you some more information related to your router hardware.

you can use the command dir flash: command to view all the IOS images present in your router
you can use sh version to check the active IOS running on the router
