Does it exist an easy to read "chart", that shows what features in an IOS you are entitled to free of cost, when upgrading?

An example: A customer ask me to forward a new version of their base image, only this time with K9 feature added. Where can i check if they are entitled to this, without purchasing a new license?

As per my knowledge, Feature Upgrade is chargable, but Version upgrade is free..

You can check this with TAC.

So if earlier image did not have K9, then this is Feature Upgrade and it is chargable.

Well, you prove my point. Why should i have to check with TAC? There has to be a place where i can check this out easily myself, without having to go by TAC.

This is straightforward - feature upgrades are always chargeable. (i.e. moving from an "IP BASE" feature set to an "ADVANCED SECURITY" feature set.)

Version upgrades might be chargeable depending on whether the customer has a valid SMARTnet contract or not. (Without SMARTnet the customer would even have to pay for a version upgrade of the same feature set).

As there are literally thousands of features within IOS it's not feasible to have everthing in a nice easy-to-read table, which is why Cisco have a tool called "feature navigator" to help you find where particular features can be found, or what features are contained within a specific image.

In your particular case the customer would have to buy the IOS, and probably also buy a SMARTnet contract for it if they wanted to have any version upgrades in the future. Every IOS has a list of features associated with it - if you want to increase the feature set then you need to pay for it.
