Hey can you post the output from dir and also your show boot

as well which image are you going too?

I want to boot from below mention IOS,

cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.01.SE.150-1.EZ1.bin,
It is successfully uploaded in flash, but my switch still booting from old IOS, i-e mention below
cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.02.01.SE.150-1.EZ1.bin, what to do to boot it from new IOS?

Hi,

I would suggest you to change the boot priority of the switch if it is having two IOS.

switch(config-t)#boot-start-marker

switch(config-t)#boot system flash: new IOS

switch(config-t)#boot system flash: old IOS

switch(config-t)#boot-end-marker

switch(config-t)#do write

Reboot the switch afterward and it should start with the new IOS.

With Regards

Chinmoy

3850 normaly use command:

software install file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.01.SE.150-1.EZ1.bin

Hi Jahan,

That is now how you upgrade the 3850 model.
The 3650 and 3850 has a different way to upgrade the switch

Before proceeding, verify what boot type your switch uses. Most of what I encounter are "Install mode"

Anyway, follow steps below:

1. Verify Install type
#dir flash:
#show version

**IF:
A. INSTALL MODE
1. *.pkg files are present
2. DO: #show version
LOOK FOR: System bundle file is:
DISPLAYS: "flash:packages.conf"

B. BUNDLE MODE
1. *.bin file only
2. DO: #show version
LOOK FOR: System bundle file is:
DISPLAYS: <Another file compared to the file mentioned above>

Once you have verified the install type, proceed with the proper firmware update.
SEE THIS LINK: CLICK ME

Again, please consider what your switch is currently set to: Either Install mode and Bundle mode
All the instructions should be on the link i provided :)
