IOS Upgrade confusion

I have some 1700 series routers that need to be upgraded from their current IOS versions but am having trouble figuring out what new version I can run. The biggest problem is identifying the DRAM amount in the routers. When I do a 'sh ver' I can identify the Flash RAM easily but not the DRAM. Below is the result from one of my routers:

Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software

IOS (tm) C1700 Software (C1700-Y-M), Version 12.1(17), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Copyright (c) 1986-2002 by cisco Systems, Inc.

Compiled Wed 04-Sep-02 01:30 by kellythw

Image text-base: 0x80008088, data-base: 0x806073AC

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(3)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

1720toV4Net uptime is 1 week, 5 days, 19 hours, 44 minutes

System returned to ROM by power-on

System image file is "flash:c1700-y-mz.121-17.bin"

cisco 1720 (MPC860) processor (revision 0x501) with 15360K/5120K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID JAD04370DZL (2053300650), with hardware revision 0000

M860 processor: part number 0, mask 32

Bridging software.

X.25 software, Version 3.0.0.

1 FastEthernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)

1 Serial network interface(s)

WIC T1-DSU

32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

8192K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

Configuration register is 0x2102

I know this is a simple question but I'm just getting started with this stuff. Thanks in advance!

You have 20MB RAM with 8MB Flash.

15360K/5120K bytes of memory = RAM

8192K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write) = Flash

Thanks for the response but I was hoping that wasn't going to be the case. The lowest amount of DRAM for moving to 12.2(32) is 24MB which I don't meet. Any suggestions on what I need to do to upgrade?

You need to purchase more RAM.

Read the docs for more info

Thanks!
