When I try to create subinterface on XR 3.6, i get the following:
RP/0/8/CPU0:PH482-EA1(config)#
RP/0/8/CPU0:PH482-EA1(config)#int Te0/0/1/0.?
<0-4095>
RP/0/8/CPU0:PH482-EA1(config)#int Te0/0/1/0.
Are they serious that it no longer supports 4 billion subinterfaces?
Please, tell me that this is not true... I plan to have at least 3000 subinterfaces with maybe 5000+ in the future.
The biggest problem is their naming for provisioning department. I need long names for QinQ.
Cisco should have implemented <b>AT LEAST<b> 4096x4096=16777216 interfaces.

Hi,
I think the naming notation is instance.subinterface
Instance is Rack/Slot/Module/Port where ethernet bundle instance range is from 0 to 65535
Subinterfafce range is 0 to 4095

Dandy

Yeah, i did find that in the documentation, but I am already entering rack/slot/module/port, with the command I am describing, and i'm not seeing that 0-65535 range anywhere...
