ip address resolution

Hi,

I had configured my 4006 switch with 10.25.14.74 ip address but when i ping with -a to that ip address it's resolving to the hostname which is assigned to the system. But i checked with the system ip address which is using 10.25.14.170. Is there any command to resolve the ip address to host in switch? Please help me to disable this.

Your question is not clear

Friend,

There is nothing to be done on the switch for that. Basically it happens when the router/switch is assigned an IP which had been earlier assigned to any system.

You need to clear this entry in your DNS to resolve it, mostly a stale entry in the reverse lookup.

HTH, rate if it does
